Styling Tips 101

Do you find that your closet is full, yet you have nothing to wear?  I can assure you that 99% of us feel this way.
Many of us find it hard to put outfits together and also to mix and match from what we own to make different outfits from pieces in our closet.
When you look at magazines or see celebrities on TV, you have most likely seen the work of a paid stylist.
You too, can get this look, but for free.
I find that looking at fashion magazines inspire me and I try to copy styles that I think will flatter my figure.
When the new fashions hit the stores, many of us feel overwhelmed. Not to worry. I am here to give you some basic tips on how to survive the fashion scene!
First, look at your closet and donate or consign anything you have not worn in 2 years.
Next, make sure you have certain fashion staples at hand. These would include a pair or two of black leggings. Spanx, a strapless bra, and a few neck scarves and fun jewelry.
If you are looking to make a bold statement this season: Look for maxi dresses in brigh colors and patterns. Maxi dresses are so 1970's and can be ideal for an afternoon soiree or an evening fete.

I like having a black boyfriend jacket handy that can be mixed with dress shorts, or wear with skinny jeans and a crisp white shirt.

Adding fun jewelry to your existing outfits can be fun and chic. This is a fresh way to style our wardrobes. I love chunky necklaces and jeweled cuff bracelets. At work, I wear these with my maxi dresses and add a big, fun ring. I get many compliments on this look.
Back to the black leggings. This look can be 100 ways to change an outfit with black leggings. I try to find long tops that can be belted with the wide belts you see at all the stores these days. I wear ankle boots with this look. It gives it a real Parisian-Chic look. I could write a book on 100 ways to wear leggings and look oh so edgy chic!
I know... you say; I can't afford to buy so many new staples. Well, your fairy godmother is here to help! Shop consignment! You will be amazed at how many current items come into our store with the tags still on them. Just think... someone else has paid the premium for these items and they are now available to you at a fraction of the cost. Good consignment shops are like a nice boutique. Not a thrift store look.
Check us out at Circa Vintage Consignment and not only will you get outfits and accessories, but our staff is very customer oriented and knowledgeable. They are the best in customer service. You will not be disappointed.
Lastly, make your look your own. Find one thing you love and work it!
Please let me know your favorite look and how you put it together. I am sure others would love to hear how you make your closet work for you.
